It’s a bit unexpected seeing scores of tourist shops within Valença’s famous historic city walls.

Rain begun just as I arrived in the city walls of Valença. Looking for a “sello” on my credencial I stepped inside the town hall at the first drops of rain. The cafe next door provided a safe shelter and at the end of lunch, the rain stopped. As you said, after long days of walk in the country and the woods, it’s strange to walk among those souvenirs shops…
