Within the “Sacred Forest” is the Santuario Della Verna Monastary built at the top of a huge rock face.
Continuing in the “Sacred Forest,” one of the most beautiful forest I’ve walked.
The tune “What Goes Up, Must Come Down” plays over and over in my head for that is how the way is walked.

From the Refugio’s ledger, it appears 2015 has had 600 pilagrinos…I’m the third American. This number may be a bit deflated as many pilagrinos begin closer to Assisi.

What to do after walking? Shower and laundry. So much like home.

Climbing three hours through dense forrest required my feet to move in a Herring Bone pattern as though on skis. As if skyscrapers, the trees stood straight, massive, and dense blocking sunlight. Walking six hours of forested mountains showcasing nature was serine.
