Tofuku-ji Temple is a Zen Buddhist temple. I felt dwarfed beside the enormous building, its wooden boards and posts. It was as though I was a Lilliputian in Gulliver’s Travel.

Pilgrims document the temples visited with red stamps and black writing in books or on scrolls. Some pilgrims choose the stamps and writing placed on their white pilgrim kimono jackets.
It’s typical to dry stamps and writing on pilgrim scrolls with a hair dryer.
