The Imperial Palace’s three story Watch Tower is its oldest dating to the Edo period, 1600-1850. Within the Imperial Palace you loose sight Tokyo is the world’s most populous city with 37.1 million people.
Watch Tower. Watch Tower. Surrounded by the world’s most populous city. With 150 ticket holders, guards kept the visitors in a herd and away from secure areas. Ticket holders were grouped into six different languages with English being the largest.
The Imperial Palace has limited admission and I snagged a ticket. With its low one story profile, Chowaden Hall was inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright. Here is where the Emperor and Empress live. On the occasion of New Year and the Emperor’s birthday, the Emperor and Empress stand on Chowaden Hall’s balcony and received greetings from as many as 20,000 people gathered on Kyuden Totei courtyard.

Why did I wait an hour for The Happy Ride Baybox that’s just a modern version of the scrambler? I’m too tired. My brain isn’t functioning. As much as I would like to see the fabulous Disney fireworks, I’m beyond enjoyment. I wearily make my way on four trains and to bed.

Parents foster the Disney mystique. They dress their wee ones in Disney outfits…Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty…Parents even dress themselves in Disney wardrobes. It’s Halloween with the Disney theme on steroid. Everybody is part of the show.

Frustrated by the Disney Resort App, I’ve snagged a paper map. Listed are the rides with warnings for those that are the most life threatening. Those are the ones which are the most thrilling and have the loudest screams. Those are the rides I want and circle them on the map. I work my way clockwise from Toontown, Fantasyland, Critter Country, Westernland, to Tomorrowland crossing off rides rode. Low tech has its just rewards.
Disney’s life threatening warning.Never pushing. Always orderly. Always Japanese courtesy. Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast. Disney Cast at Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast. Never ending smiles and waves.
“Piss Alley” otherwise known as Nonbei Yokocho “Drunkard’s Alley” but officially as Omide Yokocho “Memory Alley.” Which ever name used, it’s a charming array of bars. It was once the illicit drinking quarters in the post war period. Packed with hostess bars and bars but no toilets, the drinkers gave the alley its reputation. A Rick’s doozy and marvelous.
“Piss Alley.”“Piss Alley.”“Piss Alley.”Not a toilet to be found.
Shibuya Street Crossing is the world’s biggest street crossing with as many as 3,000 people crossing at a time. A Rick’s doozy and marvelous.
One minute video…it takes that long for thousands to cross. Chomping at the bit. They’re off! Shibuya Scramble Square. Danger. People in every direction so much like the New York Marathon.
After being enticed by several handfuls of carrots, the elephant walked smartly into the adjoining room for a blood sample to be taken.

Tokyo’s Uenomarunouchi Zoological Gardens has twin pandas. I saw the giant brother Xiao Xiao. Lucky timing for me for the twins return to China in 2026.
45 seconds of sheer delight. What eyes!Xiao is agile and strong.Snacking.
Weather: 60-80°/ sun and clouds mixed, winds 10-20 mph
Gone are the days you stood in line to paid cash for a ticket. You stood in line for a ride.

This charming couple and I met during the cue for The Tower of Horror. They had plenty of time to give me the low down on the best rides. Tower of Horror rapidly sucked you down, turned and twisted into blackness. Harry Potterish horror creatures popped out at you.Focus lower center at 11:00. The Raging Spirit Coaster is doing a complete loop. Feeling faint? Several time the coaster car gets refreshened with a blasted with water mist. The should to waist harness should clue you this ride isn’t for the faint. Minnie Mouse meets Minnie Me.
