Sahara, Serengeti? ~ Day 59 ~ June 4, 2014

Day 59, June 4
16 miles, 726 miles
Altitude: 2,706 feet (2,950 feet daily high)
Weather: sunny 48-78F
Terradillos de los Templarios

Terradillos de los Templarios is the half-way point from Saint Jean de Pied to Santiago de Compostella which makes it about the three-fourths point for my walk. There is a real celebratory feeling.

Walking continues through the meseta. I feel as if I could be in the Saraha Desert or the Serengeti plains of Africa. Hushed landscape that speaks.

  1. What an amazing milestone to be three-quarters of the way done! That said, I will be sad when your journey ends and we no longer have your daily posts to look forward to!

  2. Just catching up today and loving these photos! I hate to be so agreeable, but I thought the same thing about the first photo. I wish I could paste a picture from FB in here and I’d show you a Sarah Trundle painting! Anyway, these pictures really are stunning and I am so impressed with your daily musings accompanied by these wonderful pictures. Keep on, keeping on! You’re a rock star!
