Two Halves ~ October 18, 2015

  • October 18, 2015
  • Day 41
  • Dubrovnik, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Split, Plitvice Lakes
  • 55-70 degrees, sunny

Two halves make a country. Croatia was divided into two parts as far back as the Ottoman Empire. From Dubrovnik to Split, you drive through a strip of Bosnia and Herzegovina. People have vivid memories of Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina war in 1991-95. The three bus drivers fought. The hotel receptionist remembers the sound of bombs and having 24 hours to evacuate her home before it fell into enemy hands. I kept a low profile during the passport check point.

  • 1st between Dubrovnik, Split, and Plitvice Lakes… Marathon nine hours by bus

  1. News here about Monticello — a secret chemistry lab built by TJ has been found behind a wall. No one knew it existed until now. Judy

    1. According to the Washington Post, the chemistry lab was located during renovations to the University of Virginia’s Rotunda designed by Thimas Jefferson. linda
