- Day 4 (Day 1 Camino)
- St-Gilles-du-Gard
- Distance 13 1/2 miles (95% on tarmack)
- Ascent 313 feet & Descent 354 feet
- Time: 5:45
- Weather: 45 – 70 degrees, wind 18 MPH, clear blue sky
The only dilemma of the day was deciding to back-track 1/2 mile downhill to begin at the official start of the Arles Route. Is there any question I would not begin at the beginning?
- Arles – Les Alyscamps with church of Saint-Honorat, the traditional starting place for the pilgrimage
- Towards Saint-Gilles – Blue shutters
- Saint-Gilles – Bridge over Canal du Rhône
A very nice beginning

Thanks Mike. Just realize you kindly listened and joined many of the preparation walks and planning. You’ve been with me every step of the way for years! linda

Nothing like the rains if C2C on our first day of walking. Yesterday I sat on the stone steps of the cathedral in the sun with the breeze in my face and it felt like the perfect beach day. linda

I’m a little late joining the party, but looking forward to catching up. (My version of “binge-watching” something, I suppose!) Your photos are exquisite!

You are never late. You and Jay were my blog and Apple teachers. I must give iPhone 6 and France the credit for the excellent pictures. I just happen to be at the right place, at the right time, with the right equipment, and with the right eye for seeing beauty. Binge-view when you have time to see all the postings. linda
