The Black Walnut Bakery was a hidden jewel. Situated two blocks from the Ottawa River Ferry, the location can’t be beat. Spurred by Covid restrictions, the bakery provided a massive open air tent for its patrons. The repurposed cottage made an ideal bakery. The pièce de rèsistance was a recycling library. All this plus savory and sweet treats to please any gourmand.

Try the mini-quiche with a chewy molasses cookie.
As much as I value books, I wasn’t tempted to add another ounce to my backpack.

    1. Even a paperback book would be excess weight. I can download weightless books on Libby Ap. It’s amusing watching us shop for food. We’ll hold an item in each hand judging the weight and select the lighter of the two. ~linda
