With countless churches dating back centuries, it is easy to become saturated in their opulence. For me, there is too much to see. My quiet times in these revered places of worship are distracted by much artistry.

One of Diane’s comments when we visited a cathedral like the one in Santiago, was “this is so beautiful, BUT could not some of the money spent on this, not be given to the poor population”. I never augured this point with her.
