Spot on. Yes the Austrian-Hungarian Empire / Habsburg Monarchy ruled here until 1918. Italy secured region after WWI. There are lots of German influence in the language here. ~linda

I plan is to do day hikes. Today’s forecast is predicting thunderstorms in the afternoon. I downloaded loaded dozens of day hikes from Rick Steves Guide to my GAIA GPS App. Once I find the trail head I should be good to go. ~linda
