Everything has an amazing ability to sort itself out. The Belgium was walking 150 meters ahead of me on a plautou with chest high vegetation. He is tall so I could make out his head and the top of his pack bobbing above the vegetation along the narrow dirt path. Suddenly he disappeared having turned left by mistake. Apparently when I got to that same spot, I turned right by mistake leading me to a road a few minutes away. Seeing no trail markings at the intersection with a road, I backtracked and sorted thing out. By now I figured the Belgium was impossibly ahead. I resolved to walk alone and choose peacefulness rather than anxiety. I had a delicious quiche from the morning’s Pâtisserie sitting beside the most aromatic rosemary bush while birds chirped. I was enjoying the solitude. Suddenly the Belgium and French arrive! They had waited a half hour for me to arrive but as we each took the opposite wrong turns around a circular trail, our paths didn’t cross. We were delighted to be rejoined. linda
