It’s debatable which is more slipper when wet…black-and-white city stone sidewalks or muddy dirt paths. Muddy dirt paths get the “Slip and Slide” award. It’s certainly the dirtier of the two.

So much for those nice clean, new hiking shoes. I remember the mud when walking part of the Camino Francis. Guess there is no way of escaping the mud no matter which Camino route one takes. Hopefully your water cleans mud solution worked. Thanks for sharing.

Arnold I thought of you when I bought a €5 umbrella from a Lisbon street vendor. The rain poured so hard I needed more protection. I’m pleased to say the wind never flipped it inside-outside. It’s a purchase I can donate once the rain passes. Your solar umbrella gift could not be abandoned so easily. ~linda

LOL – Glad to hear you are trying new things on this Camino. Did you happen to bring the umbrella pack clips, which maybe would have worked with your new umbrella. Arnold-san

No clip. Since I bought the umbrella there has been far lighter rain. I guess it’s an insurance policy. ~linda

Fortunately only a couple of slick muddy walking days. Last night’s rain really cooled temperatures. Maybe more mud for today. ~linda
