Alcohol was for sale at our next premise. Two bottles of burgundy would ensure our sound sleep on air mattresses. The Community Centre exceeded our expectations. Thanks Joanne.
What would you do if you knew you had two years to live? Local artist Lyne Charlebois was diagnosed with cancer. The prognosis was two years. On good days, she painted scenes reflecting the history of the community. A college of her work hung in the community center hosting our stay. To listen to our host Joanne speak of the illustrated scenes was as if she was intimately shared her family photo album with us. Lyne Charlebois gave a gift of good memories.

Now we were three who walked with earphones. Canadian author Louise Penny provided welcome distraction from road cruising. Chef Inspector Gamache mysteries were set in Three Pines located outside Montréal. If only our walk included this fictitious idyllic village, we wouldn’t need earphones.

The saying goes if you need something done, ask a busy person. Joanne was my choice. When she’s not painting yard sale castoffs, processing pickles with the cousins, canning jelly by the case, she quilts.

Kitsch done with a 1950’s formica table and chairs, stove, plus turquoise accents. It was as though we fell into the “Leave it to Beaver” Hollywood set. It’s done so, so well. Joanne take a bow.
