From the Refugio’s ledger, it appears 2015 has had 600 pilagrinos…I’m the third American. This number may be a bit deflated as many pilagrinos begin closer to Assisi.

What to do after walking? Shower and laundry. So much like home.

Climbing three hours through dense forrest required my feet to move in a Herring Bone pattern as though on skis. As if skyscrapers, the trees stood straight, massive, and dense blocking sunlight. Walking six hours of forested mountains showcasing nature was serine.
Solo walking without conversation, the scenery and sparse sound of birds were better enjoyed. A number of hunters were in the fields with roving dogs driving pheasant from the bush. Through hunters were plentiful on this Sunday morning, I wondered how the Italian women were occupied.
The expected and unexpected.
