Terradillos de los Templarios
Terradillos de los Templarios is the half-way point from Saint Jean de Pied to Santiago de Compostella which makes it about the three-fourths point for my walk. There is a real celebratory feeling.
Walking continues through the meseta. I feel as if I could be in the Saraha Desert or the Serengeti plains of Africa. Hushed landscape that speaks.

Pilgrim Dane before today’s performance. Any doubt he daily carries the cello?
Yes. The cello required its own airline seat; hence, it was entitled to one no-charge piece of flight luggage.

I walk as if riding in a skiff through a ocean though it is not Indigo, Sapphire, or Turquoise blue water. It is an ocean of wheat varying in color from platinum blonde to deep green. With a whisper of wind the tips of wheat gently rise and fall. As the ocean is seldom flat, neither are the wheat fields seldom without motion. The current peacefully carries me along.
The flat Spanish mesetas are often under rated as mundane and monotonous. I find the mesetas to be as tranquil as floating on a raft. From this perspective I see wildflower punctuate the landscape in every imaginable color.

Ermita de San Nicolas Albergue has no electricity, phone, or other modern conveniences…shower and toilet are in an extension to the rear. A shared dinner and breakfast is provided and all for donations. This original 12th-century pilgrim hospice has been restored by an Italian Confraternity. Too bad it was too early in the day for me to quite walking and enjoy the simple pleasures of pilgriming.
Day 56, June 1
13 miles, 682 total miles
Altitude: 2,650 feet (3,083 feet daily high)

Camelot Concert.
Are we pilgrims or are we film extras?
It has become obvious we walk the same schedule and our experiences will intertwine. We are enriched by the people, the music, and the filming. Our Camino experience will be documented internationally.

Castrojeriz
Whether seem from bottom-to-top or top-to-bottom, this historical fortified town castrum had Roman and Visigothic remains. Climbing to the top was easy…it was the 13 mile walk to the castle that took the greater effort. Inch the last photograph, notice the ultra straight Roman road.
